Arms and Crests

Forward - Arms and Crests were created to identify specific individuals and places. Normally an individual would need to have some notoriety to have a published recognized Crest. Arms or Crests were never passed down although parts or a crest may have been added to someone creating a new crest (see Royal Family of England). Anyone can create their own crest but to have it actually published requires special recognition not normally available to general public.

Caverly Resource List

Some of these pages/sites may be incomplete but they could still contain useful information.

Why Resources?

I have been actively doing Caverly/Caverley genealogy for a number of years and have made contact with others also researching the surnames. Although I have focused on the Caverly surname I have also run across several variants and collected some information regarding those as well. Surnames such as Calverley, Coverly Cavalier could be variants with a deeper history then Caverly.
Since I have often provided free details to others I decided I would put some of the resources I have in a blog so I could point people to that location instead of sending individual emails with numerous links. needless to say I have included a number of links to Caverly resources I have on the Internet. If you find any new Caverly resources please let me know so I ca add it to the list.
There are many search engines such as google that can find many other Caverly resources mainly for specific individuals or businesses.
